ROLLS-ROYCE RECOGNIZES WINNERS OF THE NATIONAL AVIATION HERITAGE INVITATIONAL

Bill Wiemann's beautiful P-51D based in Alpine, WY received the coveted Rolls-Royce Aviation Heritage Trophy for 2007 as the overal winner at the Invitational. The Rolls-Royce Avaiation Heritage Trophy is displayed at the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near Washingtion Dulles International Airport in Virginia. This P-51D also won the Hap Arnold Trophy for the best military aircraft.

ROLLS-ROYCE CELEBRATES 10th NATIONAL AVIATION HERITAGE INVITATIONAL Previous winners featured at EAA in July

Bi-planes, war machines and sport aircraft from days-gone-by will soar over the deserts of Nevada this fall, part of the 10th National Aviation Heritage Invitational (NAHI) taking place at the Reno National Championship Air Races, September 12-16 in Reno, NV. Rolls-Royce, the National Aviation Hall of Fame, Reno Air Racing Foundation and the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum partnered to found the NAHI a decade ago, and have renewed their support every year.

The National Aviation Heritage Invitational has enjoyed eight years of working with the historical aircraft community and bringing the skills of that group to the attention of the aviation world through our events in Dayton and Reno.

Rolls-Royce was joined by a number of aviation heroes to recognize the winners of the Western Regional of the National Aviation Heritage Invitational held in conjunction with the Reno National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nevada.

WORLD WAR II AIRCRAFT GARNER AWARDS AT THE NATIONAL AVIATION HERITAGE INVITATIONAL

Authentic World War II aircraft stole the show at the National Aviation Heritage Invitational, Eastern Region during the Dayton Air Show earlier this month. A 1943 Piper L-4H owned by Colin and June Powers of Monmouth, Oregon captured the top prize - The Rolls-Royce Aviation Heritage Trophy. Commonly referred to as the Grasshopper, the Piper served as a liaison and artillery spotting aircraft during World War II.

Former Astronaut Joe Engle to present trophies at the National Aviation Heritage Invitational

Chantilly, VA. - Major General Joe H. Engle (Ret.) will serve as Master of Ceremonies and present the Rolls-Royce Aviation Heritage Trophy at the Eastern Region National Aviation Heritage Invitational July 16-17, 2005. The Invitational takes place in conjunction with the Dayton Air Show in Dayton, Ohio. The awards ceremony is held Sunday, July 17 at 11 a.m.

Chantilly, VA. - Rolls-Royce announced today the dates for the 2005 National Aviation Heritage Invitational competition. The Eastern Regional competition will take place at the Dayton Air Show in Dayton, Ohio on July 16-17 and the Western Regional competition will be held in conjunction with the Reno Air Races in Reno, Nevada September 16-18.
